What, Where, and How Big is Buckhead?
Posted by Ben Hirsh on Thursday, May 13th, 2010 at 4:28pm.Yesterday, I got a call from a lady looking to buy a home in the Buckhead area. She, like many people interested in Buckhead Real Estate, was confused about about exactly what, where, and how big Buckhead is. I will try to clear that up...
What Is Buckhead: Buckhead is a collection of historic neighborhoods North of downtown Atlanta, but within the city limits of Atlanta. Buckhead itself is considered by many to be a neighborhood, but I like to refer to it as a defined area that consists of 43 neighborhoods. While each Buckhead neighborhood has its own distinct identity, each of them contribute to Buckhead being the most attractive area of Atlanta.

What Buckhead is Not: Buckhead is often confused with the rural town of Buckhead, Georgia which is quite a distance from Atlanta. The Buckhead area of Atlanta is not a city or a town, but rather a collection of beautiful neighborhoods.
Where is Buckhead?: Buckhead is roughly framed by interstates 75, 85, and 285 ....North of Downtown and Midtown Atlanta.
How Big is Buckhead?: Buckhead consists of roughly one-fifth of the total area of the city of Atlanta and has about 60,000 residents.
