Peachtree Road Improvement Project Begun

Well, $54 million can go a long way to bring back the sparkle! Phase 2 of the Peachtree Road project is scheduled to begin soon and last for nearly two years. [gallery link="file" columns="2" orderby="rand"] The meticulous process will transform Buckhead's main commercial corridor between Shadowlawn and Roxboro Roads. The main focus will be on improving the streetscape, pedestrian experience, and traffic flow. This will include wider streets with bike lanes in both directions, more trees and vegetation, wider sidewalks, more benches, utilities placed out of site and underground, and landscaped medians. As the financial heart of the city, Buckhead's commercial district will greatly benefit from these improvements. Minus a few traffic snarls that it will cause over the next few years, residents will also benefit greatly.
