Dogs have been man’s best friend for hundreds of years. These days, however, dogs are more than “best friends,” they’re often lovingly referred to as “fur kids” and even “soul mates.” Our criteria in the search for the perfect four-legged friend is usually focused on size, weight, age, and, of course, cuteness factor!

The Towns of Crescent Park dog park in Circle 75.
What we often
don’t consider is this: what living
situation best combines our preferred lifestyle with that of our dog? Do you
have a Yellow Lab who requires frequent exercise and off-leash space? Can your adorable
Poodle “hold it” on the elevator from the top floor of high-rise down to the grassy
area on the ground level? Is there an exercise area nearby for your active
Dalmation pup?
With the growing "pupularity" of dog parks, doggie day care facilities, and animal rescue organizations in the more grass-deprived residential areas Intown, more multi-family, condo and townhome communities are recognizing the need to accommodate both homeowners and their pets by featuring pet-friendly amenities like fenced in yards, dog waste stations and pet-friendly walking trails.
Atlantic Station in Midtown features its own Pet Park, “complete with fire hydrants and lots of room to run.” If you want to live near Piedmont Park, check out Luxe , a condo community located at the edge of Piedmont Park and within walking distance to Atlanta’s largest dog park, Piedmont Dog Park. There isn't much green space in the heart of the Buckhead business and mall district, but luckily your pet won't be deprived with the dog walk park at 10 Terminus Place.
If you want something with a little more space and you’re willing to live on the outskirts of Vinings, check out The Towns of Crescent Park, a townhome community with a very nice large gated dog park adjacent to a walking trail on protected land.
If a low-maintenance dog-friendly condo community in Atlanta is what you and your fur kid seek, then check out these condos which all feature “pet walks” in the FMLS listing. Even though they are dog-friendly condo communities, each HOA has their own rules and regulations associated with owning a pet, ranging from size to AKC classification. So do your homework to be sure Snoopy is the right fit for the community before signing on the dotted line, and you and your furry soul mate will live in harmony in your new home for years to come!
