Historic Buckhead Home Painted Orange; Makes Neighbors See Red
Posted by Ben Hirsh on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 at 2:56pm.I was recently contacted by Josie Gulliksen who is a writer for AOL's real estate section. She wanted to interview a Buckhead Realtor and she had found me through the Buckhead Real Estate area of our website. Josie informed me that there was a historic home on West Wesley Road that had just been painted bright orange by it's respectable, but apparently eccentric, owner.
The owner is a former antique dealer and his intention was to have an aged terra-cotta look, but the home is as orange as any you have ever seen.
The article quotes me as saying
"I would be quite upset if any of my neighbors decided to paint their homes such a hideous color, but I have to stop short of saying that we should legislate or regulate the color that people in Buckhead choose to paint their homes."
You be the judge:

Thankfully, this is about as much drama as we get in Buckhead. I just hope that this blows over and the home becomes a testament to personal property rights...something that we hold dear.
