Atlanta Intown real estate has never been as popular, offering great schools, local amenities, community spirit, and above all a great value and convenient place to live or work. Virginia-Highland is a neighborhood worth exploring when looking at Atlanta Intown real estate.

Virginia-Highland is one of intown Atlanta's most vibrant and sought-after neighborhoods. The name "Virginia-Highland" comes from from the intersection of Virginia Avenue and North Highland Avenue.

Virginia Highland is one of Intown Atlanta's best known neighborhood business districts. It stretches along North Highland Avenue from the University to Ponce de Leon and continuing south into the Poncey-Highland and Inman Park neighborhoods. Virginia-Highland is also bordered by Morningside (to the north), Midtown (to the west), Poncey-Highland (to the south), and Druid Hills (to the east).  In terms of real estate this Atlanta intown neighborhood has it all.

This business district houses numerous restaurants, cafes and clubs as well as trendy shops, salons, and service businesses, which acomm the odate residents sufficiently on its own, although in addition to the Virginia-Highland business district, additional shopping opportunities close to the neighborhood include: Midtown Promenade, Midtown Place, Amsterdam Walk, Sage Hill Shopping Center, Emory Village, Little 5 Points, and the Midtown restaurant district.

Virginia-Highland borders popular Piedmont Park along its western side. Piedmont Park is Atlanta's largest park and the location of many festivals and other special events. It is also the home of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Lake Clara Meer, and a new dog park.

Virginia-Highland has two additional excellent neighborhood parks -- John Howell Park (off Virginia Avenue) and Orme Park (off Brookridge). The neighborhood is also convenient to, he Olmsted linear parks along Ponce de Leon Avenue and The Path, Druid Hills Golf Club (private), Candler Park (with public golf course and pool),  Inman Park Pool (private),  the Piedmont Driving Club (private), and the Ansley Prk Golf Club (private).

Virginia-Highland residents have easy access to Callanwolde Fine Arts Center (on Briarcliff) and are conveniently situated for enjoying arts venues in adjoining neighborhoods like Midtown (Woodruff Arts Center, High Museum, Fox Theatre, 14th Street Playhouse) and Inman Park (Variety Playhouse, 7 Stages Theatre) or the cultural offerings associated with the Emory University.

This is an Atlanta Intown neighborhood where people looking for a car free lifestyle will have a much more relaxed way of life than in most of the city. Unfortunately, there are no MARTA rail stations in Virginia-Highland, however, there are several reliable bus routes that travel the main streets of the neighborhood..

Virginia-Highland has an active neighborhood association that meets monthly as well as a parents' group that organizes play groups for children in the area.
Children in Virginia-Highland attend the City of Atlanta public schools including Morningside Elementary, Inman Middle (located on Virginia Avenue) and Grady High School (just outside the western boundary of the neighborhood at Monroe Drive and 10th Street).

The architecture of Virginia-Highland is mostly bungalows and many properties have been renovated and expanded in recent decades bringing high prices per square foot because of their premier location.
