Historic Buckhead Home Painted Orange; Makes Neighbors See Red

I was recently contacted by Josie Gulliksen who is a writer for AOL's real estate section. She wanted to interview a Buckhead Realtor and she had found me through the Buckhead Real Estate area of our website. Josie informed me that there was a historic home on West Wesley Road that had just been painted bright orange by it's respectable, but apparently eccentric, owner.
The owner is a former antique dealer and his intention was to have an aged terra-cotta look, but the home is as orange as any you have ever seen.

Selling Price:
AThe average condo in Buckhead over the first six months of 2010 was sold in 102 days for $242,974 which is 2.1% lower than the same period in 2010.
Sales Volume:
While prices have remained flat sales have jumped year-over-year from 281 to 329 condos in 2010. That represents an increase in the volume of transactions of 14.6%.

Here we are, already more than halfway through 2010...so what has the Buckhead real estate market been
doing for the first six months of the year?
Below is my mid-year 2010 market report for the Buckhead single-family home market.
Buckhead Homes Sold 1st Half 2010
Selling Price:
As shown by the chart below, the average sale price for a home in Buckhead over the first six months of 2010 was $803,025 which is 10.6% lower than the same period in 2010.
Sales Volume:
Even though average sale prices have decreased, the number of homes that sold jumped from 254 in 2009 to 315 Buckhead homes in 2010. That represents an increase in the volume of transaction of nearly 20%.
Inventory:
There are currently 945 homes for sale…
Buckhead International District advances one step towards reality

It was several months ago that I first wrote about efforts to create an International District in Buckhead to serve as a home for consulates, trade offices, and Multinational Companies. www.GlobalAtlanta.com has reported that this project has moved one step closer to being realized.
"A proposal to create an international district in Buckhead, where consulates, bi-national chambers of commerce, trade offices and multinational companies would be clustered, is headed to the next level.
More than 50 people from Atlanta's international community have agreed to serve on a committee to pursue the idea, Jim Durrett, executive director of the Buckhead Community Improvement District, told GlobalAtlanta.
