Set on a sprawling lot of nearly 2 acres and surrounded by pecan trees and dogwoods, a Historic Marietta Home just became available for the first time in decades. This charming farmhouse was originally built in 1890 and is one of only a few properties from this era which still stand today. An addition was finished in 2000 along with a completely new roof, windows and upgraded electrical.

Buckhead's Best Restaurants

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 at 2:55pm. 533 Views, 0 Comments.

One thing I love about living in Buckhead are the world-class restaurants. My favorites are Canoe (right on the banks of the Chattahoochee, the most perfect brunch!), Chops (amazing steaks), and Rama 5 (hole-in-the-wall Thai place with amazing coconut chicken soup). Yelp is the site that I go to for restauraunt reviews and they have a comprehensive listings and ratings for 258 Buckhead Restaurants! Enjoy!

Some tables at Canoe, on the banks of the Chattahoochee (and technically in Vinings)

Buckhead Demographics and Statistics Report

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 at 2:52pm. 624 Views, 0 Comments.

My clients often ask me questions about the demographics of the Buckhead area. From my personal experience of living here, I can tell you that people tend to be caring, friendly, stable, and wealthy.

Personal experiences aside, the statistics for the Buckhead area are impressive and Onboard Informatics has compiled a lot of the data below. The charts below compare two of Buckhead's eight Zip Codes, 30327 and 30305. The former consisting of quiet leafy streets and large estate lots on the Western half of Buckhead, and the latter being many of the high-rise condos and single-family homes that cluster around the shopping and commercial heart of Buckhead.   [caption id="attachment_429" align="aligncenter" width="612" caption="Buckhead Education…

The Buckhead Flower Man

Monday, April 12th, 2010 at 2:48pm. 581 Views, 0 Comments.

Robert (or the "Flower Man" as he is known in Buckhead) has recently passed away. Robert was a fixture in Buckhead for nearly 25 years as he quietly sold flowers from a traffic island at the intersection of W. Paces Ferry and Northside Pkway.   Whether I drove by in the middle of the day, or late at night, I could always count on the flower man being there, quietly pacing and waiting for his next customer. When the light would change, Robert would direct traffic and encourage people on, he obviously saw that as his second job.   The Ajc wrote a great article about him and told how every governer since the 80's has stopped to buy flowers from him, the governors mansion is just up the street.   Robert decided to stay in…

Though it's bad news for home owners who don't pay their mortgage, it certainly means there will be some great deals becoming available in the near future for prospective buyers. Banks will be listing the homes for sale once the foreclosure process is complete. One trend that is beginning to develop is banks are becoming more competitive in their list prices. Everything is negotiable but quite often they list homes at or below market value in order to move the properties quickly. In fact, they quite often receive multiple…
