Located on a side street of Spring Road is this closely knit, cul-de-sac community of 184 unique town homes. Each home is special. Some are cape cod style with painted white porches, others are traditional brick and a few even have a quaint cottage feel. Only minutes away from Vinings, Cobb Galleria and two major interstates, this is a prime location for real estate. Located in an affluent area of Northwest Atlanta, Vinings is a name quickly associated with rich history, elegant homes and a small town feel. While nearby towns often use the name in advertizing, Vinings technically falls within 3.4 square miles of the 30339 zip code and is bound by I-285/75 on the north, Atlanta Road and the Chattahoochee River to the South.
Originally known as Crossroads in 1830, Vinings began as a construction station for Western and Atlantic Railroad which connected Atlanta and Chattanooga prior to the Civil War. This now historic railroad is crossed by Paces Ferry Road, named after Hardy Pace who operated Pace's Ferry across the Chattahoochee River. Shortly thereafter, William Vining finished the construction…

Sam Massell was the mayor of Atlanta during the 1970's and has been known for decades as the "Unofficial Mayor Of Buckhead". As a resident of Buckhead and the president of the Buckhead Coalition, Sam is a figure operating in they grey area of non-government public interest. His position, or lack thereof has always impressed and interested me and his success in representing the interests of Buckhead are admirable. Sam has been quoted by the AJC as saying: "If we had a public cemetery, I’d stay here forever". Last month Sam Massell gave a "State of Buckhead" speach to the Buckhead Business Association, of which I am a member. I found his speech fascinating, below is the text of the speech, thanks to Atlanta Intown Paper: By Sam…
