Public Schools
Brumby Elementary – Achieving AYP for the 2009-2010, Brumby Elementary achieved Title 1 Distinguished School status for the 4th year. Located at 1306 Powers Ferry Road in Marietta, Brumby serves PK through 5th grade students from the Rivers Call neighborhood in Vinings.
Teasley Elementary – Described as “The best little school in Georgia”, Teasley Elementary is one of the most popular elementary schools in the area. Located at 3640 Spring Hill Road in Smyrna, Teasley has classes for students from Kindergarten through 5th grade and is highly rated on www.GreatSchools.org.
Campbell Middle – Educating students from 6th through 8th grades, Campbell Middle is proud to be an International Baccalaureate Candidate School. Conveniently located at 3295 South Atlanta Road, Campbell has made a number of strides in recent years to raise the level of education for Smyrna students by offering programs like AVID, specifically designed to prepare students for college success at an early age.
East Cobb Middle – Primarily serving students in 6th through 8th grades from Marietta and a small area of Vinings, East Cobb Middle is a Title 1 School located at 380 Holt Road in Marietta.
Griffin Middle – Proud alma-mater of Hollywood actress Julie Roberts, Griffin Middle is home to the Wildcats. Located at 4010 King Springs Road in Smyrna, most students from the Highgrove neighborhood in Vinings are in Griffin Middle School’s District of Cobb County.
Campbell High – Also a proud alma-mater of Julia Roberts, the Campbell High Spartans represent Smyrna and Vinings well in athletics, academics and through a variety of other avenues. Located at 5265 Ward Street in Smyrna, Campbell offers AP and IB courses to help their students prepare for excellence in college and beyond.
Wheeler High – With multiple regional and state championships under its belt, the Wheeler High School Wildcats excel in athletics as well as academics. Ranked as 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 by www.GreatSchools.org, Wheeler is high on the list for best public schools in Georgia. Located at 375 Hold Road in Marietta, Wheeler serves students living on the northeastern edge of Vinings.
Private Schools
Atlanta Classical Christian Academy – Established in 2004, ACCA is a co-educational, Independent Christian Day School and member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools. Approximately 135 students span PK through 12th grades. Atlanta Classical Christian Academy’s mission statement is to assist Atlanta parents in the godly training of their children through a distinctively Christ-centered education in the classical tradition.
Covenant Christian School – Founded in 1975 by Smyrna Presbyterian Church, Covenant Christian School currently educates approximately 150 students each year from K-4 through 8th grades. Using a Christ-centered, classical style of education, CCS has a strong focus on educating students in the Christian faith and preparing them for leadership and academic excellence through International Baccalaureate courses.
Pace Academy – Prestigiously located at 966 West Paces Ferry Road, Pace Academy is a highly sought after private school for residents of Buckhead and Vinings. Pace enrolls slightly more than 1,000 students each year from pre-first through 12th grades and been recognized locally and nationally for various achievements. In additional to 15 varsity teams reaching the state playoffs in 2010, the average SAT score for the class of 2010 was over 1,300. Graduates regularly go on to higher education at schools such as the University of Georgia and Stanford.
The Lovett School – One of Atlanta’s premier private schools, Lovett has a total enrollment of more than 1,500 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. With numerous successful athletic and academic programs, all of Lovett’s 2010 graduates were admitted to four-year colleges, many of them Ivy League. The average teacher has 17 years of experience and Lovett received approximately 800 student applications for 200 openings last year.
The Westminster Schools – Westminster is considered to be one of Atlanta’s top private schools and has an impressive resume’ of its own with more than 1,800 students, 180 acres of well-manicured grounds and graduates who regularly attend prestigious universities such as Harvard and Yale. Beginning with pre-first grade students through 12th grade, Westminster has approximately 200 total student openings this year.
Trinity School – Trinity begins preparing students as young as 3 years old through the 6th grade for success in life. With a total enrollment of slightly more than 600, Trinity has an excellent student-teacher ratio of approximately 6 to 1. In addition to personal interaction with each student and 32 acres of undeveloped land for student use, Trinity also uses the latest and greatest technology in the classroom to prepare each child to attend some of Atlanta’s most sought after upper schools.
