In relation to other intown neighborhoods Ormewood Park is within walking distance of East Atlanta and its eclectic commercial district on the northeast, south of Inman Park, Reynoldstown and Edgewood, and east of Grant Park.

The History of Ormewood Park
Ormewood Park was named after Aquilla J. Orme who worked for the Atlanta Electric Light and Trolley Company in the early 1900s. Orme is credited with extending the downtown streetcar to the Old Soldiers Home on East Confederate, which was in the area that is now considered Ormewood Park.
Ormewood Park has benefited from re-gentrification over the past few years, and its real estate has significantly grown in popularity and demand. The neighborhood is included in "SAND" (South Atlantans for Neighborhood Development), which is an organization of six neighborhoods committed to the redevelopment of real estate in southeast Atlanta.
