The club was originally chartered in 1956 and was at that time recognized as one of America’s premier private clubs. The Southern location is home to the famed Grant Estate, which now serves as the central gathering space. In 2008 and 2009, the clubhouse underwent a major expansion adding 25,000 square feet and all kitchen and dining spaces redesigned and upgraded.
The excellence of Cherokee's facilities, combined with its commitment to the highest standards in dining and member services, has brought the club an inordinate number of honors and awards throughout the years.
